Bart Brouwer

“It is not the strongest organisation that survives, but the organisation
who has best prepared for an uncertain future.”

Strategic choices

I started Crossing Futures in 2023 with the aim of sharing my extensive strategic knowledge and experience with you. This is to help you deal with the many uncertainties we experience today and turn them into informed strategic choices.

My passion is bridging the gap between trends and developments in the outside world and strategic decision-making within organisations. I am convinced that companies can better prepare for an uncertain future by including broader perspectives, more insights and different future scenarios in their strategic decision-making.

About me

I am a seasoned strategy development professional. A corporate strategist with a passion for integrating external trends and developments into the decision-making processes of organisations.

I have extensive experience in scenario planning, competitive and trend analysis and preparing strategic discussions in the boardroom. I have gained this experience at organisations such as Shell, KPN, PwC and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.

I am associated with ING as Head of Corporate Development and Senior Corporate Strategist. This has been the case for many years with great pleasure and dedication.

As an employer, ING promotes sustainable employability for its employees. This has given me the opportunity to start my Crossing Futures initiative in addition to my work, completely independently of ING.
